Zuheros in motorhome, Hello friends Karavaneros, we want to share with you another of the corners of our Andalusia.
We will take you to the province of Cordoba to enjoy nature and tourism, both with friends and family, a great getaway for the weekend.
We will visit the towns of Doña Mencia and Zuheros, which are located in the Subbetica region, in the geographical centre of Andalusia.
Doña Mencia has a municipal motorhome area located at the entrance of the village, in the middle of the “Vía Verde del Aceite”, where we can park and spend the night without any problem, as it has all the necessary services for our vehicle, also right next to it there is a park for the kids, as well as a bicycle rental service and picnic areas, an unbeatable place to disconnect and do sport.
In the village of Zuheros, we can park in the car park just at the entrance, these are the coordinates (37.511,-4.31691 N37º 32` 27.95″, W-4º 19` 0.87″). Of particular interest are the 9th century Torreón Castillo, the Mirador de las Escominillas, the Museo de Costumbres y Artes populares, and the Parque Periurbano de Zuheros (Zuheros Periurban Park).
This park surrounds the northern or lower part of the village. It is a short walk along footbridges, viewpoints and paths, with stunning views over the Cordoba countryside.
We can also do a hiking route along the Rio Bailon, accessing it from the same car park, this trail is about 13 km, is circular and a medium degree of difficulty, it can take about four hours.
Finally, we cannot leave this charming village without first visiting the “Cueva de los Murcielagos” (Cave of the Bats), which is about 4km away. There are guided tours and bookings can be made at the Interpretation Centre and Ecomuseum of the Cueva de los Murcielagos, just before the entrance to the cave.
